Extends anti-SLAPP protections to complainants of sexual assault, harassment, and discrimination.

New Jersey S2852 extends anti-SLAPP protections to complainants of sexual assault, harassment, and discrimination. This means that individuals who make reports or complaints in good faith and without malice of sexual offenses or discrimination can seek dismissal of retaliatory SLAPP suits. If a SLAPP claim is dismissed, the complainant can recover litigation costs and reasonable attorneys’ fees. The bill also allows for compensatory and punitive damages, court costs, reasonable attorney’s fees, and reasonable litigation expenses.
