Introduced·2/12/24
Introduced Text

Increases penalty for certain acts of trespass and vandalism on agricultural and horticultural lands.

This bill increases the penalty for trespass and vandalism on agricultural and horticultural lands when the damage exceeds $10,000. The minimum civil penalty would rise from $1,000 to $2,500 if the court determines the damages exceed $10,000. This increased penalty applies in addition to any other fines, penalties, or restitution that may be assessed. The bill also mandates that owners of agricultural or horticultural lands provide conspicuous posting prohibiting trespass on waters or banks listed for stocking with fish.
