New Jersey S2636 provides accidental disability benefits to police officers who contract COVID-19 under specific conditions.

New Jersey S2636 provides accidental disability benefits to police officers who contract COVID-19 between June 5, 2021, and January 31, 2022, if they are working outside their residence and become permanently and totally disabled as a result. This act ensures these officers receive full benefits and does not reduce any existing rights to benefits. The act is retroactive to June 5, 2021, and takes effect immediately.
