New Jersey S2572 requires the issuance of one free copy of a birth certificate to a military veteran.

New Jersey S2572 amends the state's birth certificate issuance policy to include a provision for military veterans. Under this bill, a veteran who was born in New Jersey can request one free certified copy of their birth certificate. This free copy is in addition to the existing policy of providing free copies for certain public pension claims, military enlistment, and other specific purposes. Any additional copies of the birth certificate will be subject to the regular statutory fee.
