New Jersey S2509 directs the State Board of Education to authorize new endorsements for special education, elementary and middle school education.

New Jersey S2509 directs the State Board of Education to authorize the issuance of new endorsements in certain fields. The bill authorizes a Students with Disabilities Preschool through Grade 12 endorsement, allowing holders to teach students with disabilities, excluding those who are blind, visually impaired, deaf, or hard of hearing, in all public schools and all grade levels. The bill also authorizes a Kindergarten through Grade 8 endorsement, permitting holders to teach students in grades kindergarten through six and specialty subjects in grades seven and eight.
