New Jersey S2500 prohibits bills certified for fiscal note or estimate from being released from committee without a fiscal note or estimate.
New Jersey S2500 amends existing law to ensure that bills certified for a fiscal note or legislative fiscal estimate cannot be released from committee unless the fiscal note or estimate is complete. The Legislative Budget and Finance Officer must transmit the fiscal note or estimate to the bill's sponsor, who then has three business days to object. This act amends P.L.1980, c.67, and takes effect on the first day of the third month following enactment.
