New Jersey S2485 limits fees for rescheduling, cancellation, and no-shows by health care providers.

New Jersey S2485 restricts the fees that health care providers can charge for rescheduling, cancellation, and no-shows. The bill prohibits fees for cancellations or reschedulings made more than 24 hours in advance. For cancellations or reschedulings made less than 24 hours in advance, or for no-shows, a fee of up to $25 can be charged if the patient was notified at the time of the appointment that a fee would apply and had previously canceled or rescheduled less than 24 hours in advance, or failed to appear at a scheduled appointment on two separate occasions in the past six months.
