New Jersey S2457 permits excused absences for students in grades 11 and 12 for college visits, visits to postsecondary technical institutions, and military recruitment-related activities. Students can have up to three excused absences per school year for college or technical institution visits. Absences for military recruitment activities are also excused but not included on transcripts or considered for perfect attendance records. The bill takes effect in the first full school year following enactment.
