New Jersey S2416 exempts law enforcement and emergency personnel from liability for breaking into a vehicle to rescue an animal in immediate danger.

New Jersey S2416 provides immunity from liability for law enforcement officers, firefighters, and other emergency personnel who break into a motor vehicle to rescue an animal they reasonably believe is in immediate danger. This protection applies when breaking into the vehicle is the last resort to prevent serious injury or death to the animal. The act takes effect immediately upon enactment.
