New Jersey S2412 amends current law to allow police officers to travel to and from and remain within a police station located within 100 feet of a polling place and to permit Class Three special law enforcement officers to be assigned to certain polling places. The bill also permits police officers to travel to and from and remain within a police station located within 100 feet of a ballot drop box. The bill requires county boards of elections to establish ballot drop boxes where voters may deposit their voted mail-in ballots at least 45 days before the election.
