New Jersey S2304 provides a tax credit for developing anaerobic digestion facilities that process food waste.

New Jersey S2304 offers a tax credit for the development and construction of anaerobic digestion facilities that process food waste. The credit compensates taxpayers for up to 50% of the costs incurred or $250,000, whichever is less. The bill defines "anaerobic digestion facility" as a facility hosting an anaerobic digester, which decomposes organic material into biogas in the absence of oxygen. "Food waste" includes food processing waste, overripe produce, and used cooking fats, but excludes food donated for human consumption.
