Establishes Drinking Water Emergency Response Fund in DEP and appropriates $6.85 million for FY 2024.

This bill establishes the "Drinking Water Emergency Response Fund" in the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP). The fund, which is nonlapsing and revolving, will be used to address drinking water contamination from unexpected incidents such as chemical releases or harmful algal blooms. The fund will also provide moneys to publicly owned drinking water systems for emergency response efforts.
