New Jersey S2287 directs the Board of Public Utilities (BPU) to study and submit a report on the feasibility of establishing requirements for the installation of new or replacement electric distribution utility poles and transmission towers. The study will consider the feasibility of using concrete, steel, or fiberglass-reinforced composite poles, higher classes of wood poles, higher grades of transmission towers, increased height requirements for poles, and advanced engineering methods for installation.
