This bill also mandates that these professionals include fathers and other family members in education and treatment processes to better understand postpartum depression. Additionally, it requires physicians, nurse midwives, and other licensed health care professionals to screen new mothers for postpartum depression symptoms before discharge and at postnatal check-up visits.
