New Jersey S2233 establishes emergency teacher endorsements for high-need fields in certain circumstances.

New Jersey S2233 establishes emergency instructional certificates for teacher candidates in high-need fields, such as bilingual/bicultural education, when suitable certified candidates are unavailable. A chief school administrator or the board of directors of a private school for students with disabilities can apply for an emergency endorsement if they cannot locate a certified candidate due to unforeseen shortages. The endorsement is valid for employment in the requesting school district or private school.
