New Jersey S2221 requires presidents or vice-presidents of the New Jersey Education Association or the American Federation of Teachers–New Jersey to sign an acknowledgement of their duties to report potential incidents of child abuse under current law and State Board of Education regulations. These officers must also undergo training on the requirements for school district employees to notify authorities of potential incidents of abused, missing, or neglected children. This act takes effect immediately.
