The bill establishes a Nuclear Power Advisory Commission within the Department of Environmental Protection. This commission will study and report on the role of nuclear energy, including small-scale plants, in New Jersey's energy future. The commission will consider factors such as the impact of plant closures, emerging technologies, and actions by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and other states. The commission will submit its report to the Governor and the Legislature within 18 months.
