Revises graduation proficiency test requirements and eliminates the 11th-grade test.

The bill revises requirements for the graduation proficiency test in New Jersey. It eliminates the requirement that the test be administered specifically to 11th-grade students. Instead, the State will administer assessments designed to test high school proficiency. Students who do not initially demonstrate proficiency are required to be given an opportunity to retest. The Commissioner of Education must develop or designate these assessments with the approval of the State Board of Education.
