Introduced·1/9/24
Introduced Text

New Jersey S2159 prohibits the State Lottery Commission from selling lottery tickets via the internet.

New Jersey S2159 prohibits the State Lottery Commission, any entity of the State Lottery Commission, or any entity contracted by the State Lottery Commission from selling lottery tickets via the Internet. This prohibition does not affect the rights of registered courier services to sell lottery tickets online. The bill aims to prevent the State Lottery Commission from directly selling tickets to consumers through its Internet website and mobile applications, which were scheduled to begin in the fall of 2024.
