New Jersey S2131 requires retailers to offer in-store alternatives for digital coupons.

New Jersey S2131 mandates that retailers offering digital coupons must also provide in-store alternatives of identical value. This means consumers can redeem the same discounts and benefits at the store as they would through a digital coupon. The bill defines "digital coupon" as a store coupon, rebate, or similar instrument offered online and only obtainable through a personal computing device. "In-store alternative" includes paper coupons, electronic kiosks, or applying the discount at the point-of-sale upon request.
