Extends membership in New Jersey's Teachers' Pension and Annuity Fund for those who discontinue service and for those who leave with 10 or more years.

This bill amends New Jersey law to extend the period a member of the Teachers' Pension and Annuity Fund (TPAF) can discontinue their service while maintaining membership. Currently, membership ceases if an individual discontinues service for more than two years. The bill extends this period to four years. Additionally, it extends the period for members who left service for certain reasons, such as being laid off or having 10 or more years of continuous service upon voluntary termination, to return to service and maintain membership.
