The Political Donation Transparency Act bans automatic or recurring political contributions unless specific conditions are met. These conditions include that contributions must not be automatic or recurring by default, must require affirmative consent from the contributor, and must provide a clear description of the contribution's nature, frequency, and amount. The Election Law Enforcement Commission is authorized to create rules to enforce these provisions, and violations are classified as a fourth-degree crime, punishable by up to 18 months in prison, a fine of up to $10,000, or both.
