New Jersey S2035 modifies the grading of offenses involving heroin by considering the number of dosage units in addition to weight. A person would be guilty of a crime of the second degree for manufacturing, distributing, or possessing with intent to distribute heroin in a quantity greater than two grams but less than 50 grams, or greater than 100 dosage units but fewer than 2,500 dosage units. A crime of the third degree would apply for heroin in a quantity of two grams or less or 100 or fewer dosage units.
