The New Jersey Grow Your Own Teacher Pilot Program aims to tackle teacher shortages and diversify the workforce in selected school districts, charter schools, and renaissance school projects. The Department of Education will organize a consortium of Grow Your Own Partnerships, which will meet quarterly to share experiences and best practices. Partnerships, formed by school districts, charter schools, or renaissance school projects with higher education institutions, will apply for annual grants to cover tuition, fees, room, and board for students.
