Introduced Text

Automatically enrolls individuals in the New Jersey Immunization Information System upon vaccine administration unless they opt out.

This bill mandates automatic enrollment in the New Jersey Immunization Information System (NJIIS) for individuals receiving vaccines, unless they or their guardians opt out. Newborns born after January 1, 1998, are automatically enrolled unless a written request is made. Individuals born before this date can be enrolled with a written request. During public health emergencies, the Commissioner of Health can deny requests to opt out to track vaccination rates. The registry aims to improve disease prevention and control efforts.
