The bill mandates the Division of Medical Assistance and Health Services in the Department of Human Services to take actions involving nursing homes that receive a one-star quality rating from the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. If a nursing home receives a one-star rating in two consecutive quarters, the division must evaluate imposing sanctions, which may include prohibiting the nursing home from admitting new Medicaid enrollees and limiting Medicaid enrollees admitted to the nursing home.
