Introduced Text

Eliminates residency requirement for public school employees in New Jersey.

This bill eliminates the requirement for public school employees in New Jersey to maintain state residency. The residency requirement, established in 2011, currently applies to all public officers and employees in the state, with certain exceptions. The bill removes this requirement specifically for employees of school districts, charter schools, and renaissance school projects. It retains the residency requirement for all other public officers and employees.
