Introduced Text

Allows bereavement leave for miscarriage and stillbirth under New Jersey Family Leave Act.

This bill amends the New Jersey Family Leave Act to allow employees to take family leave to grieve the loss of a child due to miscarriage or stillbirth. The leave can be taken if the employee, or their domestic or civil union partner, is a biological parent of the child or is a parent pursuant to a valid gestational carrier agreement. The bill also allows employees to take family temporary disability leave to care for a family member who has a serious health condition, including those affected by a communicable disease.
