New Jersey S1862 prohibits state contracts for technology with Chinese government-owned or affiliated companies.

New Jersey S1862 prohibits any company owned or operated by, or affiliated with, the Government of China from bidding on or submitting a proposal for a technology contract with any State agency. It also requires companies to certify their eligibility to bid. If a company submits a false certification, it faces a civil penalty and contract termination. The penalty is the greater of $250,000 or twice the contract amount.
