New Jersey S1844 aims to exempt contaminated and industrially-zoned sites from affordable housing obligations and fees. The bill prohibits the Council on Affordable Housing from calculating fair share affordable housing obligations for municipalities based on development of such sites. It also prevents municipalities from charging fees to developers under the "Fair Housing Act" for remediating contaminated sites or developing industrially-zoned land.
