Reallocates fines from "Antwan's Law" violations to local municipalities for pedestrian safety and law enforcement.
This bill amends "Antwan's Law" to reallocate fines from violations to the municipal treasury of the municipality where the violation occurred. These funds will be used for pedestrian safety and law enforcement purposes. Previously, fines were split between the municipality and county, but this bill changes that to direct all fines to the municipality. The law, named in memory of Antwan Timbers, Jr., reduces speed limits in certain areas of Burlington County and triples the fines for violations.
