The bill establishes the Office of Clean Energy Equity within the Board of Public Utilities (BPU) to promote, guide, and oversee the equitable deployment of clean energy, energy efficiency, and energy storage programs and technologies in overburdened communities. It directs the BPU to allocate at least 10% of its annual clean energy budget, or $50 million, to the office. The office must collaborate with various state departments and agencies to develop program guidelines for clean energy job training and workforce development grants.
