New Jersey S1713 prohibits the sale of children's products containing lead, mercury, or cadmium.

New Jersey S1713 prohibits the sale, distribution, import, or manufacture of children's products intended for children under six that contain lead, mercury, or cadmium. Manufacturers, distributors, and importers must issue an immediate recall if they discover such products. Retail establishments must remove these products from displays and return them to the manufacturer or distributor within 14 business days. The manufacturer or distributor must then destroy the products within 60 business days. Violators face criminal penalties, including fines and imprisonment.
