New Jersey Lottery winnings are excluded from gross income tax and withholding requirements are eliminated.

This bill excludes all New Jersey Lottery winnings from gross income tax and eliminates withholding requirements for such winnings. Currently, winnings over $10,000 are taxable and subject to withholding. The bill removes these tax obligations for all lottery winnings, effective immediately for taxable years beginning after January 1 following the enactment date.
