New Jersey S1503 mandates an investigation into automobile insurance premium increases for drivers with license suspensions.

New Jersey S1503 requires the Department of Banking and Insurance to investigate practices of the automobile insurance industry regarding premium increases for drivers with motor vehicle driver’s license suspensions. The investigation will compare increases for drivers whose suspensions are for offenses related to driving versus those for offenses not related to driving. Additionally, the commissioner will evaluate the use of credit ratings and addresses in determining premiums.
