New Jersey S1492 prohibits the sale of ammunition via vending machines.

New Jersey S1492 prohibits the sale, giving, transfer, assignment, or disposal of ammunition through vending machines. A vending machine is defined as a machine or mechanical device that accepts payment and directly dispenses an item to a consumer. Violating this prohibition is a fourth degree crime, punishable by up to 18 months in prison, a fine of up to $10,000, or both. The act takes effect immediately upon enactment.
