New Jersey S1475 mandates a temporary benefit enhancement for retirees and beneficiaries in the Police and Firemen's Retirement System (PFRS) who receive monthly payments at or below 450 percent of the federal poverty level for a household of one. The enhancement, amounting to $1,000, will be paid once in each of the fiscal years 2025 and 2026. The State will fund these enhancements through an appropriation from the State General Fund.
