New Jersey S1438 establishes regulations for automated systems and artificial intelligence used by State agencies. The bill creates the position of the Artificial Intelligence Implementation Officer, who would be appointed by the Chief Technology Officer. This officer is tasked with developing and updating procedures for State agencies to follow when using automated systems for critical decisions.
