New Jersey S140 allows municipalities to credit 1.5 units of affordable housing obligation for each unit occupied by a veteran and permits a 35% set.

New Jersey S140 amends the state's affordable housing laws to allow the Council on Affordable Housing (COAH) to credit municipalities with 1.5 units of fair share affordable housing obligation for each housing unit occupied by a veteran. This bill also permits municipalities to satisfy their fair share affordable housing obligation by setting aside 35% of all new affordable housing for low and moderate income veterans who had active service in time of war.
