New Jersey S1375 mandates legislative approval for updates or revisions to core curriculum content standards.

New Jersey S1375 amends existing law to require legislative approval for any updates or revisions to core curriculum content standards. Currently, the State Board of Education reviews and updates these standards every five years. Under this bill, any changes made after its effective date must be submitted to the Legislature for approval. The Legislature has 45 days to adopt a concurrent resolution approving or disapproving the update or revision. If approved, the changes will be implemented; if disapproved, they will not be implemented.
