Introduced·1/13/26
Introduced Text

New Jersey Transit to establish a pilot program with transportation network companies in Morris and Middlesex counties.

The bill mandates the New Jersey Transit Corporation (NJT) to create a three-year pilot program in Morris and Middlesex counties. This program will offer eligible riders prearranged rides to the nearest NJT facility providing motorbus, rail, or light-rail services on workdays. Eligible riders must be residents of Morris or Middlesex counties. NJT will contract with transportation network companies (TNCs) to provide these rides at a flat rate, which may vary based on location and distance. TNCs may offer reduced fares to veterans and senior citizens, based on the flat rate.
