New Jersey S129 creates a toll relief program for frequent toll users. It allocates $250 million to the New Jersey Turnpike Authority and $250 million to the South Jersey Transportation Authority from the General Fund. These funds are intended to provide account credits to qualifying accounts, which are private prepaid electronic toll collection system accounts. The authorities must issue credits equal to 50 percent of the amount paid for qualifying transactions per transponder for each calendar month, provided there are 35 or more qualifying transactions.
