Upgrades offense of criminal mischief if person interrupts or impairs power supply.

This bill upgrades the offense of criminal mischief if a person interrupts or impairs the supply of power. Under current law, criminal mischief is a crime of the third degree if a person purposely or knowingly causes a substantial interruption or impairment of public communication, transportation, the supply of water, oil, gas, or power or other public service. Under the provisions of this bill, all criminal mischief offenses are a second degree crime if a person purposely or knowingly causes a substantial interruption or impairment of supply of power.
