Introduced Text

Provides additional State school aid to school districts with enrollment increases from age-restricted housing conversions.

This bill provides additional State school aid to school districts experiencing enrollment increases due to the conversion of age-restricted housing developments to non-restricted developments. The aid is calculated based on the difference between the projected resident enrollment for the budget year and the actual resident enrollment in the last full school year prior to the occupancy of any dwelling unit in a converted development. The aid amount is the lesser of the actual cost per pupil or the per pupil tuition rate adopted by the school district’s board of education.
