New Jersey S1238 requires employers with staff who serve the public in places of public accommodation or other public facilities to train those employees about the rights of individuals with disabilities to use service or guide dogs. Employers can use no-cost training provided by the Division on Civil Rights, the New Jersey State Bar Association, or other entities, or they can create their own training program. The Division on Civil Rights will set minimum training standards. The law takes effect immediately upon enactment.
