S.1237

Requires telemarketers making sales calls to display their name and telephone number on any caller identification service.

Chamber Passed·2/12/24

New Jersey S1237 mandates telemarketers to display their name and phone number on caller ID during sales calls.

New Jersey S1237 amends existing telemarketing laws to require telemarketers to display their name and phone number on caller identification services during sales calls. The bill also prohibits telemarketers from using methods that block caller ID information or misrepresent their identity. Additionally, it restricts telemarketing calls to between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. and prohibits calls to numbers on the state's no-call list, except within three months of the number being added.
