Introduced Text

New Jersey S1218 allows restaurants without liquor licenses to advertise that patrons may bring their own beer or wine or purchase wine from.

New Jersey S1218 removes the prohibition on restaurants without liquor licenses advertising that patrons may bring their own beer or wine or purchase wine from on-premises salesrooms. The bill responds to a recent court decision that found the prohibition on such advertising to be an unconstitutional violation of the First Amendment right to free speech. The bill also allows restaurants to advertise that certain wines in winery salesrooms located on the premises are available for purchase. The act takes effect immediately.
