New Jersey S1215 establishes special license plates for honorably discharged veterans.

New Jersey S1215 authorizes the Chief Administrator of the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission to issue distinctive license plates to honorably discharged veterans. The plates must bear the word "Veteran" and the branch of the military in which the veteran served. The surviving spouse of a deceased veteran may also retain the special plates. The bill requires a $15 application fee in addition to the normal registration fee. The chief administrator must notify motorists of the opportunity to obtain these plates and promulgate rules and regulations governing their issuance and use.
