New Jersey S1207 requires municipalities to designate parking spaces for disabled veterans and Purple Heart recipients.
New Jersey S1207 amends existing law to mandate that municipalities designate parking spaces for disabled veterans and Purple Heart recipients. These spaces must be located at or near city hall or other principal municipal buildings. The bill also exempts disabled veterans and Purple Heart recipients from municipal parking meter fees when their vehicles display special license plates or placards. The Chief Administrator of the Motor Vehicle Commission will create rules to implement these provisions. The law will take effect six months after enactment to allow municipalities time to comply.
