New Jersey S1187 mandates the Board of Public Utilities to establish rules and regulations for the construction and operation of small modular nuclear reactors. The bill also authorizes the New Jersey Economic Development Authority to use funds from the Global Warming Solutions Fund to incentivize the construction and operation of these reactors. The fund, established under P.L.2007, c.340, is used to support programs aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions and promoting energy efficiency.
